Peanut allergy: where do we stand?
0%
Allergy to peanuts seems to be getting more and more attention these days, as shown by regular mention in the media, in the letters to the editor in the daily papers, in various magazines and publications in the medical literature. This is due in part to what seems like an increase in the incidence and in the severity of reactions occurring with peanuts. The fears of the ones who are allergic, of the parents of children with peanut allergy, of the school teachers and personnel, as well as the attitude of the public to this problem, not necessarily the same as the ones that have to deal with the problem, all demand a clearer overall picture of peanut allergy as it is today. This article hopefully will help in the understanding of this special, dreadful allergy and how to best deal with it.
